To alleviate the risk of embankment collapse and damage to persons and properties the eThekweni Municipality commissioned the construction of 3m to 5m high reinforced retaining walls in existing residential areas. The project was completed with minimum interference and disturbance to residents. The works were completed with no reportable injuries. Skilled and unskilled labor was sourced from local communities.
